Welcome to Sera Highlands!

We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy the breathtaking flower scenery and delicious food!

Sera Town is located almost in the center of Hiroshima Prefecture and is a highland town with large temperature differences.

A sacred site in Wakayama Prefecture, it has a long history that flourished as a manor of Kishu Koyasan from the Heian period. Now celebrating its 1,200th anniversary since its founding, Konkoyasan is located in the center of Sera Town, but is a historic site that never ceases to attract visitors throughout the year, as it allows visitors to feel the changing seasons with the cherry blossoms in spring, the green leaves in early summer, and the autumn leaves.

It is known as one of Hiroshima Prefecture's leading "agricultural treasure troves," producing high-quality agricultural products such as Sera rice, and agricultural products that take advantage of the highland climate, such as Sera Minori beef, Sera Kogen pork, asparagus, and sweet corn, are highly regarded within the prefecture.

Located in the mountain hills, the flower fields are some of the largest in Japan, creating spectacular views in every season. In spring, cherry blossoms, tulips, and moss phlox bloom in abundance, while in early summer roses and hydrangeas bloom with gorgeous fragrances. In summer, you can enjoy sunflowers, and in autumn, cosmos, salvia, dahlias, and other flowers in abundance.

As a tourist area relatively close to the Setouchi coast such as Onomichi and Fukuyama, it is bustling with day-trippers, and is also a popular driving destination from Hiroshima city and Shikoku.

Depending on the season, you can enjoy viewing multiple flowers.

Sora no hana batake Sera Kogen Flower Forest

Address: 1405 Tobari Sorakuguchi, Sera-cho, Sera-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture

This is one of the largest rose gardens in Japan, specializing in English roses. The relatively cool climate of the Sera Plateau means that the English roses stay in bloom for a longer period of time.
Among the flowering period from late May to mid-July, June provides the most beautiful views. At this time, various perennial flowers perfectly complement the roses by adding a vivid splash of color. We hope you enjoy this unique arrangement of flowers that cannot be seen on the plains. In autumn, the roses are in bloom from late September until early November.
